There are not a ton of options for lace up cycling shoes commonly preferred by track cyclists. Exustar has a shoe that is well built and intensely stiff.
The fit is not too far off of a Shimano type fit. I wear a 44.5 in Shimano, and I am wearing a 44 in these. There are no half sizes, and they are made of leather. There is a break in period, but it is worth it.
The big negative is weight. These are heavy shoes. Additionally, there is little to no creature comforts to the upper. The insole is non-removable hard foam, and there is no lining to the leather.
These shoes seem to be developed for the track cyclist who wants security and power transfer over comfort. They play very well with toe straps (both single and double). The drilling of the sole is very flexible and should allow SPD-R and older Time cleats in addition to standard 3 hole Look style.
