This is my third pair of MBTs. They are vastly improved in styling without taking away from the function of the sole. My first pair were sandals. Functional but a color that looked like it was put on with a baby's dirty diaper. My second pair, a black shoe that my wife immediately dubbed "mailman shoes" because of the orthopedic look about them. Both great shoes with a Frankenstein air about them.
The sole on the new shoe has a lower profile and what appears to be a harder insole to compensate for the loss in height. It works and the shoe, in my opinion, is improved. Still not the most stylish shoe but it may not be as difficult to sacrifice a little vanity for a good deal of functionality.

By captain.fraser
Shoes arrived in less than a week, original box, in perfect condition. This is the fourth pair of MBT shoes that I have... I was run over by a bus in 1989,when most of my right foot was crushed, and my foot Dr. prescribed these shoes to help my gait. Great results! Far less pain than "ordinary" shoes, and virtually no swelling, which used to be a daily occurrance.

I use MBT as I have foot issues. These felt great from the first moment. I also like the look - the graduated darker to lighter brown from the toe on back
